The Italians LOVE their black licorice candy of “liquirizia nera”

but this is not your Nona’s candy dish,

Cavatelli Nero, died with squid ink,

tossed in  anchovy, garlic, parsley, Calabrian chili and lemon

-topped with pangrattato

I also love black licorice,

-but given a choice,

I wish my grandma had a bowl of this lying around for a snack!
